This web site is a set up to inform the public about the Tullahoma Campaign and associated events. We'll use this site to get the word out about the Tullahoma Campaign and related events and create a better sense of community among our citizens. We'll also include pictures of our work and sites.

Our Mission

Our mission is to preserve our American Heritage, educate the public with the history of those events and commemorating those brave men who have fallen before us in the field of battle.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO SITE:

Take exits 105, 97 or 81 off Interstate 24. All three exits lead to Wartrace.

Thank you very much!
To all of you that made the 140th Tullahoma Campain a huge success, again I say THANK YOU. A special thanks to the Armies of Tennessee, US/CS, General Tom Doss and his entire staff.

We had about 450 soldiers and 4,000 spectators during the two day event. As event sponsor and landowner, BeechWood Farm feels that this was a very successful endeavor. We and the Armies of Tennessee US/CS have submitted our final designs for the monument to be placed here on site and look forward to completing that aspect of the event sometime early in 2004. Please continue to check this site for futher details.

We (BeechWood Farm) would like to do this again in 2005, maybe,  but we are looking for your input. Please pass this site to all your friends and send us an email letting us know your thoughts. You can send me an email at (philipdgentry@bellsouth.net).

THE HISTORIC TULLAHOMA CAMPAIGN OF 1863

The Tullahoma Campaign commenced immediately after The Battle of Stones River (Murfreesboro) January 2, 1863 and continued until the commencement of the Battle of Chicamauga, September 10, 1863.

U.S. General Rosencrans, Army of the Cumberland, had approximately 60,000 soldiers. The C.S. General Bragg had approximately 47,000 soldiers. The Union armies were scattered in and around Liberty Gap and Hoover's Gap. The Confederate forces were scattered in Shelbyville and Wartrace with the C. S. headquarters in Tullahoma. C.S. Corp. Commander William J. Hardee was headquartered at Beechwood, now know as BeechWood Farm, Highway 29, Wartrace, Tennessee.

During this time in history, the Confederates were eventually routed from the state of Tennessee and pushed into Georgia. The fall of  Vicksburg and The Battle of Gettsburg, all took place during this time frame. No matter which side won, the Civil War was a very costly and deadly struggle.
